As a region that is home to excellence in education, science and technology, we can all be proud of the contribution Cambridge and South Cambridgeshire is making to the World. 

Unfortunately, this has led to incredible pressure on housing, with not enough homes being built to meet the demand. 

We are acutely aware of the need not just for more homes, but homes that are genuinely affordable for local people. 30% of the new homes that are delivered at Waterbeach New Town East will be affordable. 

We will include a variety of options, including social rent and shared ownership. 

The ‘for-sale’ homes will start at one-bed and include large, family-sized options. We will provide opportunities for all to live in Waterbeach New Town East.  

The location of the New Town East, in such close proximity to Cambridge and surrounding employment areas, means that local people who would otherwise be priced out of the area will be able to afford to live in the region.
