At its meeting on June 30th 2022 the Executive Board of the Greater Cambridge Partnership (GCP) agreed to provide £20m to support the delivery of a new station at Waterbeach. 

This will be funded by the Greater Cambridge City Deal, money provided by Central Government to support the delivery of infrastructure that will support the sustainable economic growth of Cambridgeshire. 

Alongside the £20m provided by the City Deal, the Waterbeach Development Company will be providing £17m. 

The GCP is now assembling a project team to deliver the new station, working towards an opening date of Q4 2025.
